Domodossola

Proposal for an extension and reorganisation of an existing park in Domodossola Italy.

The proposal makes a new continuous curved landscape over the existing via A. DeGasperi. This multi-layered organisation allows a maximum footprint of the park and doesn't break the existing continuous infra-structure.

By giving the park a linear layout the visual connection to the mountainscape, will become a special visual quality of the park. The linear layout will carry a wide range of programmatic fill-ins of the park. To have a good course of the existing park with it's new extension, the new linear elements will vary in length. Repositioning part of the existing trees will make the park a lot lighter and the view on the mountains will become visible.

As an attractive routing through the park a soft curved path is placed over the linear elements. Creating a path along the different elements, that will give the visitor different experiences of all the different fill-ins.

Extra commercial program is positioned under the park landscape, along the via A. DeGasperi; giving the street an urban facade and allowing an economic use of the area.
