Rijnhaven
Proposal to bring back the distinctive character of Rijnhaven by building on existing ship hulls. The Rijnhaven has always been a specific harbor area with its high density of ships. This character can make the distinction between Rijnhaven and any other floating proposal.
The Netherlands has a large amount of ships, that have difficulty in keeping up with the modern competitors. By reusing the oldest, most polluting, ships as floating capacity for the new neighborhood we decrease the pressure on the environment. According to different data banks there are approximately 200 ships larger than 86 meters, that are outdated and might get demolished.
Our vision offers an unique, environment friendly and attractive harbor area within its important historical background.
